From a young age, Emily Amato, PA-C, felt gravitated to help people. As the oldest of three children, she quickly learned what hard work meant. Most of her early jobs were helping and severing people in some capacity, whether as a restaurant server or a snowboard instructor.
Emily attended Michigan State University and earned a bachelor’s degree in physiology. While obtaining her undergraduate degree, Emily always knew becoming a physician assistant was the path she wanted pursue as it would allow her to fulfill her interest in medicine and continue to help people. Emily attended Central Michigan University for her master’s degree in physician assistant studies. During her studies, cardiology was an area of medicine that always kept her interest. Emily felt this was an area where perhaps she would be able to make the most impact in helping people understand cardiac prevention as well as educate them on new diagnosis and treatment.
After graduation, Emily took her first job as PA-C with Grand Rapids Cardiology. She has learned so much in the past five years and is so excited about the next chapter as she and her colleagues from Grand Rapids Cardiology join ACV Centers. She enjoys that the teams possess the common goal of putting patients first. Emily looks forward to continue making a positive impact on people’s lives.
Emily is married to her wonderful husband, Stephan, and they have a 7-month-old son, who is the light of her life. She enjoys traveling, attending hot yoga classes, running and eating ice cream (everything in moderation, right?).
